Glass Buffalo is a literary magazine in search of mythic power. We’re collecting the words and stories of emerging writers at the University of Alberta in order to cultivate a creative literary community.
The inaugural issue (read it here) was a collaboration between students of a creative nonfiction class and their professor, Dr. Janice Williamson, in the spring of 2012. We were able to print a limited run of copies to share with our friends and families thanks to a grant from the Collective Body for Arts Students (CBAS) at the University of Alberta.
Now, Glass Buffalo is published twice a year, in the winter (March) and the fall (September). We’re available at bookstores in Edmonton and at local literary festivals and events.
We’ve recently been awarded the honour of being named the 2014 Best New Magazine by the Alberta Magazine Awards!
